Govt Committed to Strengthening DeepTech Ecosystem, Says Piyush Goyal at Bengaluru Roundtable
Startups, Investors Discuss Policy Reforms to Boost Innovation and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Vision

PNS Bureau:-Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening India’s DeepTech ecosystem, promoting innovation, and easing business regulations at a high-level roundtable in Bengaluru today.

The meeting brought together over 35 DeepTech and semiconductor startups and 30 leading venture capital firms, including Agnit Semiconductors, QpiAI, SignalChip, QNu Labs, Blume Ventures, and Celesta Capital. The session, hosted by Shri T.V. Mohandas Pai (3one4 Capital) and Shri Prashanth Prakash (Accel Partners), focused on building an innovation-led, Viksit Bharat @2047.
Mr. Goyal emphasized scaling domestic capital, nurturing homegrown funds, and encouraging startups to develop frontier technologies under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission. Discussions highlighted key issues such as extending Startup India benefits for DeepTech ventures, improving R&D grant rules, and introducing targeted tax incentives for innovation funding.
It was agreed that a structured follow-up mechanism between DPIIT, TiE Bangalore, and the DeepTech ecosystem will be established to review progress and propose actionable reforms. The roundtable marks part of an ongoing dialogue series to accelerate India’s transition toward a technology-driven economy.(PIB)
